Over the April school vacation, the New England Colonials International Basketball Club (www.NewEnglandColonials.net) enjoyed a terrific ten-day basketball tour to Finland and Estonia. You will be pleased to know that our town was well represented by Ryan McGuill, our first player from Walpole. Ryan was a terrific representative for Walpole and Walpole basketball on and off the basketball courts in Finland and Estonia.
Our younger Rovers team had an equally successful tour to Ireland and Northern Ireland. Now, we turn our attention to welcoming our International Colonials team in late June. This unique team is composed of 11 players ages 15-17 from 11 countries (roster below).
We are seeking qualified Walpole families to host these players as they arrive between June 20-23, to prepare for their three-week New England basketball tour which begins on June 26. Interested families should contact us at 508-668-1935.
Please let your WYBA players and families know they are cordially invited to attend the IntCols team practice at Walpole High on June 25 from 4-7 PM. We are hoping to conclude the tour with a game against the high school summer team in Walpole on July 14.

Disney's Wide , World of Sports® hosts FUN-damental Basketball Camp

FUN-damental Basketball Camp ( www.OrlandoBasketball.com ) is now in its 17th year of offering one of the premier camps in America. Campers from more than 30 states and 20 countries have attended our camps in New York and Florida. The Camp has a unique 5-1 camper-staff ratio and the professional coaches take an individual interest in each child regardless of his or her ability on the court.

Bridgewater will be hosting a summer Outdoor Basketball League for girls going into grades five, six, seven, and eight. Now in its sixth year, the goal of this league is to offer a local site for playing pre-season games in preparation for the upcoming season. There will be no standings maintained and no playoffs.
The league will start the week of July 8 and run for 6 weeks. The number of teams in the league will be determined by the number of entrants, with a maximum of 10 teams in a division. Each team will play 6 games. There will be divisions for each grade: 5, 6, 7, & 8.
The league games will be played on weeknights beginning on Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:00, 7:00 - 8:00 and 8:00 - 9:00 PM. The games will be held at the outdoor courts at Legion Field, located on Route 18 in Bridgewater. Referees will be supplied. All games will be 20-minute halves (running times) with stopped time the last two minutes of the second half if the score is within 10. There will be a 3 minute overtime in case of ties.
The cost for each team will be $215.00. Checks will be due with your entry form (attached). As mentioned above, we will limit the number of teams to a maximum of 10 per division. If you are interested in having your team compete, please send an e-mail to:

Puerto Rico's Youth Basketball Tournament
We are really excited to invited your Youth Basketball Program to came and participate this summer on July 7th thru July 13th in the Puerto Rico’s Junior Olympics Basketball Tournament. The categories will be 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19 for boys and girls. The team inscription included twelve (12) uniforms; ages 6, 7, 8 ($550.00 US) 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 ($650.00 US) and 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 ($675.00 US). It will be an awesome and a different experience for your program to come play in a high level tournament, plus your team will enjoy all of the amenities that Puerto Rico have to offer. Please feel free to ask anything and we will answer you as soon as possible. If you are interested send us an email back and we will give you the tournament inscription website and more information regarding traveling packages and plans for team’s members and companions.
